For many, the 2012 track season has already begun, so be sure it’s fresh in our minds… especially with the mild winter we just had and what feels like an early spring – we’re anxious to dig in. There are a few issues we have to address prior to our first event, but nothing too extensive – we should have some progress updates in the near future. Our biggest concern at the moment is our transmission. Right now the plan is to replace the throw-out bearing and flush the Royal Purple gear oil and replace it with some Amsoil MTG (GL-4) in the hopes that some of the hard shifts will go away. Also while we are there, we’ll be swapping out the starter which has given us problems over the past seasons.
We are looking through the schedules from the various groups/clubs that we’ve ran with over the years, hoping to find events that fit our schedules and our budgets. We are putting several different options together, but until we find some time to get the car sorted we won’t know for sure which events we’ll be able to attend. Here’s a look at our tentative schedule.
- Beaverun: May 19-20 (Saturday) EMRA
4 week break
- Lime Rock Park: June 21 (Thursday) CART
4 week break
- Watkins Glen: July 27-29 (Fri-Sun) PCA
6 week break
- NJMP Lightning: Sept 8-9 (Saturday) EMRA
Stay tuned, hopefully we’ll have an update shortly!
